About Domestic Violence Prevention, Inc.
Domestic Violence Prevention, Inc. (DVP) is a 501C3 nonprofit that has provided services and advocacy for crime victims' rights since 1979. DVP provides services and advocacy for male and female victims of physical, mental and sexual abuse including adults, children and the elderly. DVP accomplishes this through their mission to break the cycle of violence (see above mission statement).
DVP provides emergency shelter, immediate crisis intervention and advocacy, a 24 hour crisis hoteline, emergency and medical transportation, legal advocacy and court accompaniment, educational and supportive activities for children, education and support groups for adult and child victims of sexual assault/incest and domestic violence, individual counseling for shelter residents and nonresidents, and community referrals and information. Also, a battering intervention and prevention program provides counseling and group sessions for abusive partners.
DVP conducts community outreach by providing information and referrals to community agencies, conducting professional and volunteer trainings, and giving presentations and information to schools and youth groups on the topics of teen violence prevention, healthy relationships, and bullying, as well as general presentations to civic groups, businesses and churches.
DVP has the only Safe House available to victims in their service area.
DVP forbids any form of harassment or discrimination on the part of any manager, supervisor, or employee/co-worker based on gender, religion, age, race, english proficiency, sexual orientation or political affiliation.
