Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and as concerned citizens it is imperative that we recognize and respond to intimate partner violence in our communities. Domestic incidents have increased substantially this year, making it the right time for you to familiarze yourself with the problem and available solutions.

Please join us for any of the events held in your area to learn more about what we can do to help victims of domestic violence.

  • Domestic Violence Awareness Luncheon: October 6th at 12:00pm. The location is Central Christian Church at 9th and Wood Sts. Please call 903-794-4000 to RSVP
  • Candlelight vigil in Hope, AR: October 13th from 6:30pm-8pm at the small stage in the park. Please call 903-794-4000 for more information
  • Play titled “Living Behind the Mask” will be performed at the Perot theater on October 17th. Pre-show will be at 6:30pm. The show will start at 7:00pm.
  • Candlelight vigil in Texarkana, TX: October 27th where walking trail is next to A&M building from 6:30pm-8pm. For more information, please call 903-794-4000.
