Domestic Violence Prevention’s 14th Annual Antique/Classic Car and Bike Show

The 14th Annual Antique/ Classic Car and Motorcycle Show will be held on March 31 at Texas High School. The event will begine at 10:00a.m. and end at 3:00p.m. Vendors and car entrants should be there by 8:00a.m. for set up and judgine to begin. There will be fun for all ages with kid activies, games, food, live entertainment and much, much, more!

We want to welcome any classic or antique car or trucks, Muscle cars, pieces of junk, father/son projects, newer “souped” up cars or trucks, and motorcycles of every kind! If you got it, come show it off at our car show.

Gift Wrap Store

The 2011 Annual Gift Wrap Store Fundraiser is the largest of three annual fundraisers that Domestic Violence Prevention, Inc. puts on every year. This year, the Gift Wrap Store started bright and early on Friday morning of November 25 and abruptly came to an end on Saturday, December 24. We had numerous organizations and individuals who volunteered tireless hours and effort to help wrap gifts at the store this year. Lindsay Walters, the new Event Coordinator for DVP, said “I am very proud of all the hard work the DVP staff and volunteers put in to help make Gift Wrap succeed,” Walters continued to say “being my first year to coordinate the Gift Wrap Store, I feel it went very well with very little problems. I have taken note and learned what worked well this year and what didn’t work out so well and will apply these lessons to improve next year’s Gift Wrap Store. I know with the help of the DVP staff and the help of our wonderful Board Members as well as volunteers, 2012 Gift Wrap Store will be ten times more successful.”

All together, the Gift Wrap Store had over 300 people and organizations volunteer 1754.8 hours and helped raise $20,000.00, more than $500 increase from 2010. All the proceeds benefit the Domestic Violence Prevention, Inc. and the services we provide to victims of domestic abuse.

On behalf of DVP, we want to send out a special thanks to those who donated, sponsored and volunteered at the Gift Wrap Store. With out your support and tireless efforts, the Gift Wrap Store would not be possible. We hope to see you back next year to make 2012 the best Gift Wrap Store yet!
